-
Have a good night's rest before appointment (eight
hours).
-
Avoid alcohol the evening before appointment.
-
Take vitamin supplementation as suggested several
weeks in advance, if possible.
-
Eat a large high-protein breakfast containing such
foods as meat, eggs, cheese, milk, 7-grain cereal,
hot oatmeal, potatoes, etc.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing with long sleeves.
-
Make no appointments for remainder of day to allow
complete rest following treatment.
-
Anti-inflammatory medication- i.e. Advil, Motrin,
Lodine, or Aleve as per our instructions - 30 minutes
prior to appointment.

For Long Appointments Following

Go home and rest remainder of day if possible.

When instructed, rinse with warm salt water: (1 teaspoon
per 8 oz. glass of warm water)
1st day - - - hourly
2nd day- - -every other hour
3rd day- - -every three hours, etc
-
Keep area around temporary restorations as clean as
possible with soft brush and floss, utilizing both
gently. Refrain from using electric toothbrush for
48 hours.

Take Motrin, Advil, or Aleve as needed. If necessary,
fill prescription for pain medication.
-
Expect some discomfort anywhere from two to five days
after your appointment.
-
Continue to take vitamin supplementation as instructed.
-
Stay on a soft, nutritious diet, which might include
eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, high protein drinks,
ground beef, etc. for the first 24-48 hours.
-
Should temporary restorations become loose, Telephone:
our office and come in as soon as possible to have
them re-cemented.
